Energimyndigheten energy innovation grants
A staged ladder of grants for energy technology companies: concept development, verification with a customer, pilot and demonstration, then international launch and capital raising support. The concept and verification calls open twice a year. For a Swedish hardtech company in energy, this is the main sector specific source.
Deadlines
The concept development and verification calls open in April and October each year; the spring 2026 rounds closed 2 June 2026 and the autumn 2026 date was not published as of 2026-09-07. Pilot and demonstration calls are announced continuously.

Who can apply
Open to companies in Sweden. Swedish SMEs (and universities) with an energy innovation that contributes to a fossil free energy system. Concept development targets TRL 2 to 4, verification targets TRL 4 to 7, Global Innovation Accelerator requires TRL 8 or higher and a market strategy.
Amount
Concept development: up to 100% of eligible costs, maximum SEK 500 000, no co-financing. Verification with customer: maximum SEK 3 million, applicant co-finances at least 55%. Global Innovation Accelerator: up to SEK 250 000 in consultant support plus up to SEK 250 000 in grant. Pilot and demonstration: amounts set per call.
