Innovation Fund Denmark Innobooster and Innoexplorer

Innobooster co-finances knowledge based development projects in Danish SMEs, including hours, external knowledge partners and equipment. Innoexplorer funds the pre-company phase for university and hospital researchers. Together they cover a Danish hardtech idea from lab to SME development project.

Innobooster accepts applications continuously while a period is open, in about 6 periods per year; periods 5 and 6 of 2026 and the 2027 dates were not published as of 2026-09-07. Decisions take from about 2 to 3 weeks to a few months. Innoexplorer answers within about 9 to 10 weeks.

Who can apply

Open to companies in Denmark. Innobooster: Danish SMEs (fewer than 250 employees, turnover at most EUR 50 million or balance sheet at most EUR 43 million) that have either raised at least DKK 100 000 in risk capital or development grants in the last 3 years or had gross profit of at least DKK 250 000 in 1 of the last 3 years. Innoexplorer: researchers or employees at Danish public research institutions, educational institutions or hospitals who want to found a company on their results.

Amount

Innobooster: DKK 200 000 to 5 million per project, Innovation Fund Denmark covers 35% of the project costs. Innoexplorer: DKK 500 000 to 1.5 million per project, up to 12 months.
